About CBDIA
The Cross Borders Driving Instructors Association is a professional network of DVSA approved driving instructors serving the communities across the English-Scottish border region.
Our Mission
To promote the highest standards of driving instruction and road safety across North Northumberland, Berwickshire, and Roxburghshire.
Our Community
We bring together driving instructors from both sides of the border, fostering professional development and mutual support.
Road Safety
We actively promote road safety in our local communities and provide a portal for reporting road network issues.
Our Area
CBDIA covers a unique area that spans the English-Scottish border. Our members provide driving instruction across North Northumberland in England, and Berwickshire and Roxburghshire in the Scottish Borders.
Our members use five driving test centres: Berwick Upon Tweed, Duns, Kelso, Alnwick, and Haddington, giving learner drivers a wide choice of locations for their practical test.
This cross-border area presents unique driving challenges, from rural single-track roads to busy A-roads, making local knowledge invaluable for learner drivers.
Our Meetings
The association meets on the last Thursday of every month for business discussion, social chat, and we regularly welcome guest speakers. We also hold a summer social function and a Christmas celebration for our members.
